Test system Analytical — gravimetric, hexane extract
Method Gravimetric, n-hexane extract
Extraction 1 extract at 10 mL per extract. Extraction ratio per ISO 10993-12: 6 cm2/mL for material under 0.5 mm thick, 3 cm2/mL at 0.5 mm or thicker, or 0.1-0.2 g/mL where surface area is indeterminate.
Acceptance criteria Reported gravimetrically. Non-volatile residue is the readout for the exhaustive-extraction stopping rule under ISO 10993-18: extraction continues until a step yields no more than 10% of the residue recovered in the first. No independent pass or fail.
Deliverable Analytical report with raw data and the compound list, issued in Groenakker’s report template or in your document template on request at no extra cost. Results carry into the ISO 10993-17 toxicological risk assessment, which is signed by a DABT board-certified toxicologist.
