How it works

How it works

Four steps, one owner

Pricing comes first, not last. Approved accounts see their contracted pricing as they build an estimate, and anyone with an account can request an estimate. The scope conversation follows; it does not stand in front of the price.

01

Build the estimate
Search by endpoint, method or GRK number and add what your evaluation calls for. Not sure what applies? Start from a biological evaluation plan — it sets the matrix before you spend anything.
02

Get your pricing
Turnaround and device counts are on every method page. Once we have reviewed your account and linked it to your contracted price list, your pricing appears on screen as you build the estimate. Until then, request an estimate and we will price it for you.
03

Send it to us
Submit the estimate for review, or export it for a budget or a grant application and come back later. Saved estimates stay on your account.
04

We convert it to an order
We check the scope against what your device actually needs, confirm sourcing and turnaround with you, then convert the estimate into a sales order. Nothing runs until that review is done.
Before the price

What sets the matrix

Three things decide how big the program is. None of them is a sales question.

Device categorization
ISO 10993-1:2025 categorises a device by the nature of body contact and how long that contact lasts. Those two answers drive which biological endpoints apply.
The evaluation plan
A biological evaluation plan states what is already answered by materials, manufacturing and prior data, and what is left for testing. It usually removes tests from a list rather than adding them.
Samples
Each method needs a defined number of devices or a defined extract. Cut-and-share pooling across methods usually means the total is lower than the sum of the parts.
After the review

What happens once it is an order

The estimate becomes a sales order only after we have walked the scope with you.

Scope confirmed
We go through the estimate with you, agree the final matrix, and flag anything your evaluation plan does not yet support.
Order raised
The estimate converts to a sales order. Settle on account against a purchase order.
Samples requested
A written sample request follows: quantities, configuration, controls where they apply, and where to ship.
Testing runs
Protocols are issued and the work is scheduled across the laboratory network, tracked against the critical path rather than method by method.
Reports delivered
Final reports arrive in your templates, under your quality system.
Sourcing

Domestic and international

Every laboratory in the network is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited and GLP certified to the standard versions FDA recognizes, and has been audited by FDA. Sourcing changes price and turnaround. It does not change the method or the standard — it is a sourcing decision, not a regulatory one.

Domestically sourced
Catalog numbers ending -01D. Shorter shipping legs and simpler logistics for teams based in the US.
Internationally sourced
Catalog numbers ending -01X. Longer logistics, priced and scheduled accordingly. Same method, same standard, same quality system.
Deliverables

What you receive

Test reports
Issued by the performing laboratory under its own accreditation, reconciled by us before they reach you.
Plans and reports
Biological evaluation plans and reports where those are in scope for your program.
Toxicological risk assessment
Where an assessment calls for one, a DABT board-certified toxicologist signs it.
In your format
Deliverables arrive in your templates, under your quality system — not ours.
